Hull

Rettig’s Hull plant in the UK is primarily focussed on the manufacture of fan convector heaters. The principle product is the Kickspace range of plinth heaters that comes in either hydronic or electric forms and in various sizes and outputs to meet any application. A range of Wallmounted convestors is also manufactured for domestic and light commercial applications. These are the Hi-Line, Lo-Line and Slim-Line models which have recently been supplemented by the new highly functional iVector/Vido high output product.

The plant also manufactures the LST casings for use on the Myson and Purmo brands, 9 million combined backstraps/spacers/distance pieces for the Gateshead and Zonhoven panel plants and also Aluminium diffuser plates and manifold assemblies for the UK underfloor business.

The plant site was relocated to Hull in 1991 from Ongar, Essex. The Hull site now has a production area of 2800 square meters.

Products are primarily sold under the Purmo and Myson brands and are sold in the UK, continental Europe and in the USA.

The plant has obtained the BS EN ISO 9001 Manufacturing Standard and the BS EN ISO 14004 Environmental Standard. Products are tested and approved to a broad range of different standards including BEAB (UK), KEMA (Holland), VDE (Germany), UL (U.S.A.), NF (France) and SEMKO  (Sweden).

The company has recently established a second assembly area for the new iVector/Vido product and investend in an additional testing facility. A Lean Manufacturing product team has also been established at Hull to introduce the principles and benefits of "5S" approach to manufacturing.

At Hull, manning levels are in the main sufficient to cover demand in a single shift system 5 days per week but can be flexed to 2 shifts when necessary in the press shop and paint plant.
