Newcastle West

The Myson Controls factory is based in Newcastle West in County Limerick in south-western Ireland.  The original site was founded in 1969. It was purpose built to manufacture, in high volume, a wide range of valve products for the heating industry. As demand grew through the 1980s for more sophisticated controls Myson expanded their product range to meet the market aspiration for high quality control products.

After a devastating fire that destroyed much of the original equipment, the factory was rebuilt during 2005/6 to provide a new, state of the art, production unit for the 21st century that will enable the development of an even wider range of controls.

As the largest producer of heating controls in Ireland the company exports its products worldwide. Traditionally the largest share of the business is exported to the U.K. domestic market, but the growth of the home heating market in Ireland has provided a strong domestic base. In addition to these two ‘home’ markets products are shipped to and via associated companies within Rettig ICC to outlets throughout Europe and beyond.

In line with the company policy of continuous product development Myson Controls has expanded the range of product offering to include both mechanical and electrical controls. All production is carried out within the strict quality control procedures of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and ISO 9001 Quality Management System. Products offered also comply with the European and British Quality Standards.
