The 37,000 square meter site was founded in 1958 on the Team Valley Trading Estate in Gateshead. There are now buildings covering 20,000 square meters. Together with the Myson Radiators Ltd business, the site was acquired by Rettig in 2000. The plant has production capability for Rettig’s 33mm platform, the basis of the Purmo Compact and Myson Select range, as well as the unique 50mm Round Top Radiator the basis for the Myson Premier range. All panel radiators are manufactured and tested to BS EN 442. Every radiator carries the BS Kitemark, which certifies independent approval of heat output and verifies production under the Quality Management System, which is certified by BSI to ISO 9001. The Environmental Management System is also certified by BSI to ISO 14001. The Environmental impact of the plant is taken very seriously and work over the last 3 years has improved energy efficiency by 33%. In 2003 Rettig invested 30 Million Euro in a new production hall equipped with two new fully integrated high speed welding lines. This investment programme transformed Gateshead site into arguably one of the most modern steel panel factories in the world and without question into the most productive full round top plants.
