The Walcz industrial site was established in 1995 as a joint venture between Vogel & Noot Wärmetechnik AG and a local partner. Walcz is located in the north part of Poland, 140km from the German border, surrounded by lakes and forests. Originally acting as a Vogel & Noot subsidiary, then one of the leading independent radiator manufacturers in European heat emitter market, the former activity at Walcz was to assure the painting and packaging radiators delivered from the sister steel panel plant at Gera in Eastern Germany. Over time the local partner was bought out and Vogel & Noot became the sole owner. In 2002 Vogel & Noot Wärmetechnik AG was acquired by Rettig, and Walcz joined Rettig Group. Today, the plant is located on an industrial site of 78,000 sq. metres from which the production hall and warehouse account for 26 000 sq. metres. Walcz is the main supplier to the Rettig 40mm production platform, with a capacity of 1.6 million radiators per year, produced on 3 welding lines. The absorption of the production volumes in 2007 from the former Wartberg site in Austria has now been successfully completed. In addition to radiator manufacturing, the plant produces connectors and valves, and is the principal supplier to the Rettig plants in Moson and Rybnik. The plant has 400 employees, and is the biggest factory in the Walcz region. Walcz was granted ISO 9001 and TUV in 1999, and ISO 14001 in 2004.
